Les Régates

Overview

Nestled along the serene waters of Quai Eric Tabarly in Le Havre, France, Les Régates is more than just a restaurant-it’s an experience. If you’re ever in the area, whether you’re strolling along the harbor or just passing through, this delightful spot offers a memorable blend of exquisite cuisine and unparalleled views.

The charm of Les Régates lies in its seamless combination of traditional French dishes and a modern twist. The menu is thoughtfully designed, offering something for everyone, from hearty classics to lighter options that celebrate the bounty of local produce and fresh seafood. A visit here feels like a journey through the flavors of the region, perfectly paired with the picturesque backdrop of the harbor.

On any given day, you can expect a menu that rotates with the seasons, ensuring that ingredients are always at their freshest. Take the seafood platter, for example-served with a generous helping of oysters, crab, and langoustine, it’s the ideal dish for those who want to indulge in the coastal offerings that Le Havre is famous for. Each bite delivers the kind of freshness that only a place this close to the ocean can provide.

For those who prefer something a bit more hearty, the duck confit is a local favorite. Tender, flavorful, and served with crispy skin, it’s a dish that perfectly encapsulates the essence of French comfort food. Of course, no meal here would be complete without a fine bottle of French wine, and the staff at Les Régates are always happy to recommend the perfect pairing.

But it’s not just about the food; the setting is a major draw. Les Régates offers an intimate atmosphere with views that change as the day progresses. Whether you’re seated outside, soaking in the sights of the harbor, or enjoying the cozy interior with its chic, nautical décor, the restaurant has a way of making every meal feel special. The sound of gently lapping water and the sight of boats drifting by add to the charm, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or a romantic dinner.

Customer reviews consistently highlight the impeccable service and welcoming vibe of the place. Regular visitors appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who go out of their way to make sure each guest feels at home. The restaurant’s attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the layout of the seating, reflects its commitment to delivering a top-tier dining experience.

If you’re looking to try something unique, be sure to ask about the daily specials. On one visit, I had the grilled scallops with a citrus beurre blanc-an absolute standout. It was light yet flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness and acidity. The chef at Les Régates clearly understands how to work with flavors, always keeping things interesting without overwhelming the palate.

As for dessert, don’t miss the crème brûlée-it’s the kind of indulgence that leaves you wishing you could have one more spoonful. Silky, creamy, and with a perfectly caramelized top, it’s a sweet ending to a meal that’s sure to please.

One of the most appealing aspects of dining at Les Régates is the atmosphere-it’s upscale yet laid-back, making it an ideal choice for both casual outings and special occasions. The restaurant manages to strike the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, with a menu that offers quality without the fuss.

The location on Quai Eric Tabarly also adds to the experience. Whether you’re here for a leisurely meal or simply to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the location is hard to beat. It’s an easy spot to find and perfect for anyone exploring the area. Plus, the proximity to other points of interest in Le Havre means that you can easily combine a visit to Les Régates with a day of sightseeing.

In the end, Les Régates offers much more than just a meal-it’s a chance to unwind, savor great food, and soak in the beauty of Le Havre’s harbor. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this charming restaurant should definitely be on your list for a dining experience that will leave you coming back for more.

The place is located right by the port. From there it is possible to admire the sailing boats stopped at the harbour and a nice view over the sea. The food was very nice and tasty and the service was quite fast and very kind. The combinations proposed were great. Only negative point was a bit hotter inside. Other than that the interiors look like a boat and that is very appreciated and nice.

It's one of the restaurants you don't recognise directly as a tourist as what it is. The dishes are exactly what French are known for: playing around with local products in a way, no other nation can imagine, creating something really beautiful and tasty at the same time. The service was the best we experienced so far at least havre, professional, but not overly serious. It is located directly at the port/harbor and the terrace located at the first floor gave a very unique setting. Price quality can't be topped here.

The food is delicious and the view is fantastic. The service is so-so but we can’t ask for more - it’s a popular restaurant after all.

Lots of space between the tables and generous portions of raffined food. The staff is warm and welcoming. A large terrace and super sunset views.
